Fortnum & Mason to open Dubai branch

Luxury London retailer Fortnum & Mason is sallying forth and has set up an outpost in foreign lands – the firm’s first in its entire 306 year history.

The new store which will open in Dubai in February will stock its celebrated hampers and include tea rooms.

Fortnum & Mason chief executive Ewan Venters said: “We feel the mix of Fortnum’s traditions and the vibrancy of Dubai will be a powerful combination.”

The retailer will work with Al Khayyat Investments in Dubai to set up the new shop.

Fortnum & Mason also branched out from its Piccadilly home to set up a small standalone outlet in Kings Cross St. Pancras station, which opened last month.
