Female entrepreneurs will go head-to-head in a bid to secure funds and mentoring from London business legends on 8 March.
Organised by The Women: Inspiration & Enterprise (WIE) Network, the competition is now seeking applicants and will allow finalists to pitch their ideas to a star-studded panel.
LoveFilm co-founder Simon Franks, Smarta CEO and founder Shaa Wasmund, former Channel 4 chairman Luke Johnson, will join Venrex Ventures’ Tom Fleming and Mobo CEO and founder Kanya King, to judge the competition.
Winners will secure a £15,000 investment but will crucially win the chance to be mentored and advised by the judges. Once the winning ideas are ready, marketing guru Linzi Boyd will help roll it out, making sure we all hear about the latest product or service.
“It’s so important to encourage and support more women to pursue their dreams of running their own enterprises,” said Wasmund. “In the UK only 12-14% of businesses are majority female owned as opposed to 28% in the US. Smarta helps 450,000 small business’s a week by partnering with WIE you hope to be able to add even more female led companies to this number.”
