Which city takes the top spot?
With the rising costs of housing, food and entertainment, it wouldn’t be a bad guess to say London is the world’s most expensive city.
However, despite the way the city empties our pockets month after month, London is actually only the sixth most expensive city in the world, according to the Worldwide Cost of Living report by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
“In nearly 17 years of working on this survey I can’t recall a year as volatile as 2015,” said Jon Copestake, an editor of the survey.
“Falling commodity prices have created deflationary pressures in some countries, but in others currency weakness caused by these falls has led to spiralling inflation.”
Five of the 10 least expensive cities in the world were in India and Pakistan.
