Adele named Britain’s richest female musician in history. Here are the top ten music fortunes

Singer Adele dominates global music sales

Adele has been named Britain’s richest musician ever. Her pop superstardom has seen her accumulate an estimated wealth of £85m.

But despite her millions, Adele is placed at just number 30 on the list of the UK and Ireland’s top 50 music millionaires, as compiled by the Sunday Times.

And to compound Adele’s problems, when Ireland is included, Adele is only the second richest ever female musician from the British Isles. The richest woman on the list is Ireland’s Enya, who apparently has an extraordinary £91m in her possession.

But Adele is still the number one richest musician aged 30 or under on the list, a position she has held onto since 2012. So plenty of time to surpass Enya.

Adele’s last album, 25, has sold over 15 million copies.
